The new complex will increase the company's annual production capacity by 16,600 tonnes of confectionery products. Once the facility reaches full capacity, Bayan Sulu will be able to produce up to 68,000 tonnes of products annually. The project has created 260 new jobs.
Supporting domestic processing
The Confectionery Capital project is another major step in the modernization of Bayan Sulu's production facilities in Kostanay. It was implemented in line with the objectives outlined by the President of Kazakhstan in the 2023 Address to the Nation, which called for increasing the share of processed agricultural products to 70%.
The new facility processes locally sourced agricultural raw materials, including flour and molasses. The project supports deeper processing of agricultural products, expands the production of higher value-added goods, strengthens Kazakhstan's export potential, and generates additional demand for related industries in the region.
Focus on locally made products
"The launch of Confectionery Capital is an important milestone in the development of our company. Today, imported products account for around 65% of Kazakhstan's confectionery market. That is why it is particularly important for us to increase domestic production, expand our product range, and strengthen the position of Kazakh manufacturers. The new production complex will significantly increase our output of biscuits and cookies, allow us to process locally sourced agricultural raw materials, and offer consumers high-quality products made in Kazakhstan. We are grateful to the government for its support and intend to continue investing in the development of our company," said Timur Sadykov, Chairman of the Management Board and President of Bayan Sulu JSC.
Bayan Sulu's production and export footprint
Founded in 1974, Bayan Sulu is Kazakhstan's largest national confectionery producer. Today, the company manufactures more than 300 products under approximately 90 brands. In 2025, 55% of the company's total sales came from the domestic market, while 45% were generated through exports. Russia remains the company's main export market, accounting for 78% of total export shipments.
